Temporary Lane Closure on S Lois Avenue that began July 29, 2019 for Utility Work to be Extended
(This is a revision to Traffic Advisories issued on July 22, 2019 and August 23, 2019)
A portion of S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street and a portion of W Swann Avenue between S Church Avenue and S Lois Avenue that closed on Monday, July 29, 2019 for utility work has been extended. A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the west side of S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Avenue and on both sides of W Swann Avenue between S Clark Avenue and S Lois Avenue.
One (1) southbound lane on S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Avenue and one (1) lane on W Swann Avenue between S Clark Avenue and S Lois Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on July 29, 2019.
Northbound and southbound traffic on S Lois Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will be intermittently maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on W Swann Avenue between S Clark Avenue and S Lois Avenue will be intermittently maintained on the south side of W Swann Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.
Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area during construction.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S Lois Avenue and W Swann Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, October 4, 2019, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Northbound and southbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Swan Avenue and W Azeele Street in lieu of S Lois Avenue.
Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Azeele Street between S Dale Mabry Highway and S Lois Avenue in lieu of W Swann Avenue.
