Temporary Lane Closure on S MacDill Avenue to begin July 27, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of S MacDill Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) North Boundary Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm on beginning on Monday, July 27, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a gas service line across S MacDill Avenue between W Bay Haven Drive and W Shelton Avenue to serve a new townhome development on the east side of S MacDill Avenue.


The southbound lane of S MacDill Avenue between W Bay Haven Drive and W Shelton Avenue will close beginning at 9 am on July 27, 2020.


Southbound and northbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the east side of S MacDill Avenue between W Bay Haven Drive and W Shelton Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.


Sidewalks in the work area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.


All lanes on S MacDill Avenue between W Bay Haven Drive and W Shelton Avenue will be open by 3 pm on Friday, September 4, 2020, weather permitting.


The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. 


Southbound and northbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between Interbay Boulevard and MacDill AFB North Boundary Boulevard, in lieu of S MacDill Avenue.
