Temporary Lane Closure on S Manhattan Avenue to begin May 7, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Manhattan Avenue between W El Prado Boulevard and W Bay to Bay Boulevard will close beginning on Thursday, May 7, 2020 for utility construction.  A City contractor will install stormwater pipe and structures on the east side of S Manhattan Avenue between W Vasconia Street and W Sevilla Street. 

One (1) northbound lane on S Manhattan Avenue between W El Prado Boulevard and W Sevilla Street will close beginning at 9 am on May 7, 2020.


One (1) northbound lane on S Manhattan Avenue between W El Prado Boulevard and W Sevilla Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.


Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during the construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.


It is anticipated that all lanes on S Manhattan Avenue between W El Prado Boulevard and W Sevilla Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, May 25, 2020, weather permitting.

 
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.


Northbound motorists can use S West Shore Boulevard or S Dale Mabry Highway between W El Prado Boulevard and W Bay to Bay Boulevard in lieu of S Manhattan Avenue.


Northbound trucks can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Gandy Boulevard and W Bay to Bay Boulevard in lieu of S Manhattan Avenue.
