Temporary Lane Closure on Swann Avenue to begin April 25, 2017 for Road Construction

A portion of Swann Avenue between Dakota Avenue and Packwood Avenue will close on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, as part of Hyde Park Village Road  Improvement Project.  The contractor will close the center lane on Swann Avenue at the intersection of Rome Avenue at 9 am on April 25, 2017, to install landscaped center medians. 

One (1) eastbound lane and one (1) westbound lane will be open to traffic on Swann Avenue during construction.  Left turning movements will be prohibited on Swann Avenue at the intersection of Rome Avenue during this phase of construction. Turning movements on Rome Avenue will also be restricted to right turn only at the intersection of Swann Avenue.

It is anticipated that the intersection of Swann Avenue and Rome Avenue will be reopen by 4 pm Monday, May 8, 2017, weather permitting.

Construction continues in the southbound lane of Dakota Avenue / Snow Avenue / Rome Avenue from Swann Avenue to Bristol Avenue.  The construction work on Dakota Avenue / Snow Avenue / Rome Avenue is scheduled to be completed in June 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
