Temporary Lane Closure on W Brorein Street to begin February 6, 2019 for Sidewalk Construction
A portion of W Brorein Street between S Ashley Drive and S Plant Avenue will close beginning Wednesday, February 6, 2019 for sidewalk construction. A private contractor will be installing sidewalk on the north side of W Brorein Street between the Brorein Street bridge and S Parker Street for the new residential highrise on the corner of W Brorein Street and S Parker Street. One (1) lane on W Brorein Street between S Ashley Drive and S Plant Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on February 6, 2019.
The northbound lane on S Parker Street between W Brorein Street and W Grand Central Avenue will remain closed during construction.
Pedestrians in the area of construction will need to use S Plant Avenue to W Cardy Street and S Parker Street to access the Publix grocery store.
All lanes on W Brorein Street are scheduled to reopen by 4 pm on Thursday, February 7, 2019, weather permitting.
The City recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. Trucks can use S Florida Avenue to E Kennedy Boulevard to avoid congestion on W Brorein Street.
