Temporary Lane Closure on W Cypress Street to begin on March 23, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Cypress Street between N MacDill Avenue and N Himes Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on Monday, March 23, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing communication cables on W Cypress Street between N MacDill Avenue and N Glen Avenue.
There will be intermittent lane closures on eastbound and westbound W Cypress Street between N MacDill Avenue and N Glen Avenue beginning at 9 am on March 23, 2020. 
One (1) lane of traffic will be intermittently maintained on W Cypress Street between N MacDill Avenue and N Glen Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.
The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
All lanes on W Cypress Street between N MacDill Avenue and N Glen Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Friday, May 15, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Kennedy Boulevard between N MacDill Avenue and N Himes, in lieu of W Cypress Street.
