Temporary Lane Closure on W Gandy Boulevard to begin April 1, 2019 for Road Construction

A portion of W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, April 1, 2019 for road construction.  A private contractor will be constructing median improvements in W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway in conjunction with the new Wawa on the south side of W Gandy Boulevard.  One (1) westbound lane on W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway will close at 9 am on April 1, 2019.

One (1) westbound lane on W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

All lanes on W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, April 5, 2019, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Westbound motorists can use W Euclid Avenue or Interbay Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.

Trucks can use W Bay to Bay Boulevard or Interbay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.
