Temporary Lane Closure on W Gandy Boulevard to begin July 8, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Gandy Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Himes Avenue will close daily beginning on Monday, July 8, 2019 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the north side of W Gandy Boulevard between S Dauphine Avenue and S Himes Avenue to service an existing shopping center on the south side of W Gandy Boulevard.  One (1) westbound lane on W Gandy Boulevard between S Dauphine Avenue and S Himes Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on July 8, 2019.

One (1) lane of westbound traffic on W Gandy Boulevard between S Dauphine Avenue and S Himes Avenue will be maintained at all times, with delays.

The sidewalk on the north side of W Gandy Boulevard between S Dauphine Avenue and S Himes Avenue will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

It is anticipated that all lanes on W Gandy Boulevard between S Dauphine Avenue and S Himes Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Westbound motorists can use Interbay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Himes Avenue in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.

Westbound trucks can use Interbay Boulevard or W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.
