Temporary Lane Closure W Sligh Avenue to begin May 29, 2019 for Utility Maintenance

Tampa, FL (June 17, 2019) – A portion of W Sligh Avenue between North Boulevard and N Florida Avenue that closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, for utility maintenance will be extended.  A City contractor will be cleaning and relining sewer lines on W Sligh Avenue between N River Boulevard and N Highland Avenue.  One (1) eastbound lane on W Sligh Avenue between N River Boulevard and N Highland Avenue closed at 9 am beginning on May 29, 2019.

 

One (1) lane of eastbound traffic will be maintained on W Sligh Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

 

N Highland Avenue between W Sligh Avenue and E Flora Street will also be closed during construction.

 

All lanes on W Sligh Avenue and N Highland Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, June 28, 2019, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

 

Motorists can use W Waters Avenue between North Boulevard and N Florida Avenue in lieu of W Sligh Avenue.
