Temporary Lane Closures of 22nd Street and Osborne Avenue to begin September 11, 2017 for Site Development

09/01/17

A portion of N 22nd Street between E Hillsborough Avenue and E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and a portion of E Osborne Avenue between N 34th Street and N 15th Street will close beginning on Monday, September 11, 2017.  The lane closures will allow a private contractor to construct sidewalks, driveway and curbing for site developments at the northwest and southwest corners of the intersection of N 22nd Street and E Osbourne Avenue.

One (1) southbound lane on N 22nd Street between E Ellicott Street and E Cayuga Street and one (1) westbound lane on E Osborne Avenue between the Middleton High School driveway and N 20th Street will close at 9 am on September 11, 2017 for work at the northwestern corner of the N 22nd Street and E Osbourne Avenue intersection.

After completion of work at the northwestern corner, one (1) eastbound lane on E Osborne Avenue between N 20th Street and the Middleton High School driveway will then close for work at the southwestern corner of the N 22nd Street and E Osbourne Avenue intersection.

Traffic will be maintained in all directions on N 22nd Street and on E Osborne Avenue during construction, with delays.  It is anticipated the work will be completed by 4 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Northbound and southbound can use 15th Street between E Hillsborough Avenue and E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in lieu of N 22nd Street.  E Hillsborough Avenue and E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard can be used to travel eastbound and westbound between N 34th Street and N 15th Street in lieu of E Osborne Avenue.
