Temporary Lane Closures on Bayshore Boulevard that began on December 2, 2019 for Utility Construction to be Extended

Tampa, FL (December 13, 2019) – A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between W Gandy Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue that closed daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on Monday, December 2, 2019 for utility construction will be extended.  A utility contractor will close the outside northbound lane and the outside southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Wallcraft Avenue and W Tambay Avenue for installation of conduits, street lights and poles as part of the Mayor’s Initiative/Bright Lights, Safe Nights program.

One (1) northbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard and one (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Wallcraft Avenue and W Tambay Avenue will close beginning at 9 am on December 2, 2019.

One (1) northbound lane of traffic and one (1) southbound lane of traffic on Bayshore Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

It is anticipated that all lanes on Bayshore Boulevard will be open to traffic by 3 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Northbound and southbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue between W Gandy Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue in lieu of Bayshore Boulevard.
