Temporary Lane Closures of Bayshore Boulevard to begin April 2, 2018 for Road Construction
A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on Monday, April 2, 2018, as part of the final phase of the Bayshore Safety Enhancement project. A City of Tampa contractor will reset granite curb, install sidewalks, install pedestrian ADA ramps and pave portions of the southbound lanes. The Bayshore Safety Enhancement project includes two (2) ten foot (10’) wide lanes, five foot (5’) wide Tampa bike lane and speed reduction from 40 mph to 35 mph.
One (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on April 2, 2018.
Portions of the sidewalk on the land side of Bayshore Boulevard will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed in November 15, 2018, weather permitting.
The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
