Temporary Lane Closures of Bayshore Boulevard to begin October 1, 2018 for Road Construction

A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard  will close daily from 9 am to 7 pm beginning on Monday, October 1, 2018, as part of the final phase of the Bayshore Safety Enhancement project.    A City contractor will mill and pave the southbound outside lane.  The Bayshore Safety Enhancement project includes two (2) ten foot (10’) wide lanes, a five foot (5’) wide bike lane and speed reduction from 40 mph to 35 mph. 

One (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 7 pm beginning on October 1, 2018. 

There will be intermittent side street closures and turning movement restrictions on Bayshore Boulevard during portions of the construction.

All southbound lanes on Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will be reopen to traffic by 7 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
