Temporary Lane Closures of Beneficial Drive Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue to begin October 25th 2020 for Road Construction

A portion of Beneficial Drive between Channelside Drive and Knights Run Avenue, a portion of Channelside Drive between Water Street and E Cumberland Avenue and a portion of S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive will close beginning on Sunday, October 25, 2020 for road construction.  A city contractor will be installing signal mast arms at the intersection of Channelside Drive and Beneficial Drive/S Meridian Avenue.  The work will be completed in four phases.

 

During Phase 1, the contractor will be installing the signal pole and mast arms on the SW corner of Channelside Drive and Beneficial Drive.  Beneficial Drive between Channelside Drive and Knight Run Avenue will close at 9 pm on October 25, 2020.  In addition, the southbound thru lane on S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive and the westbound left turn lane on Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and Beneficial Drive/S Meridian Avenue will close at 9 pm on October 25, 2020.

 

All lanes on Beneficial Drive, Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, October 26, 2020, weather permitting.  

 

Signal pole and mast arms will be installed on the other three corners of Channelside Drive and Beneficial Drive/S Meridian Avenue at a later date.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
