Temporary Lane Closures on Channelside Drive to begin September 9, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of Channelside Drive between S Florida Avenue and S Meridian Avenue will close nightly from 8 pm to 6 am beginning on Monday, September 9, 2019, for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing communication conduit on the north side of Channelside Drive between S Florida Avenue and S Meridian Avenue to service the new USF medical building located at Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue. 

One (1) eastbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Florida Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will close at 8 pm beginning on September 9, 2019. Two (2) lanes of eastbound traffic on Channelside Drive between S Florida Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

One (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will close at 8 pm beginning on September 9, 2019. One (1) lane of westbound traffic on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on Channelside Drive between S Florida Avenue and S Meridian Avenue will be open by 6 am on Friday, September 13, 2019, weather permitting. 

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
