Temporary Lane Closures Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Air Cargo Road to begin July 25, 2017 for Paving

A portion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Air Cargo Road and Lois Avenue and a portion of Air Cargo Road between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Tampa Bay Boulevard will close on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, for the completion of a water main project.

 

One (1) lane on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Air Cargo Road and Hubert Avenue will also close at 9 am on July 25, 2017, as the City contractor paves the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard intersections at Lauber Way, Manhattan Avenue and Coolidge Avenue. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard between Air Cargo Road and Hubert Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

Lauber Way, Manhattan Avenue and Coolidge Avenue will be accessible from other adjacent streets at all times during construction.

 

Two (2) lanes on Air Cargo Road between Ohio Avenue and Tampa Bay Boulevard will also close at 9 am on July 25, 2017, as the City contractor paves the Air Cargo Road intersection at Woodlawn Avenue.  Northbound and southbound traffic on Air Cargo Road between Ohio Avenue and Tampa Bay Boulevard will be maintained at all times during construction.

 

There will also be a westbound lane closure on Woodlawn Avenue between Hubert Avenue and Manhattan Avenue with eastbound and westbound traffic maintained in the eastbound lane, with delays.

 

It is anticipated that all lanes on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and on Air Cargo Road, will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
