Temporary Lane Closures on E 19th Avenue and E 18th Avenue to begin on December 16, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of E 19th Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 34th Street and E 18th Avenue between N 34th Street and N 22nd Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, December 16, 2019, for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing streetlights and poles along E 19th Avenue and E 18th Avenue as part of the Mayor’s Initiative/Bright Lights, Safe Nights program.

 

One (1) westbound lane on E 19th Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 34th Street will close at 9 am beginning on December 16, 2019. 

 

One (1 ) westbound lane on E 19th Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 34th Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

One (1) westbound lane on E 18th Avenue between N 32nd Street and N 31st Street will also close.

 

One (1) westbound lane on E 18th Avenue between N 32nd Street and N 31st Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

The sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

 

It is anticipated that all lanes on E 19th Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 34th Street and all lanes on E 18th Avenue between N 32nd Street and N 31st Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020, weather permitting.    

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.

   

Westbound motorists can use E 7th Avenue between N 50th Street and N 34th, in lieu of E 19th Avenue and E 18th Avenue.
