Temporary Lane Closures on E Broadway Avenue and E Columbus Drive to begin October 1, 2018 for Driveway Construction

A portion of E Broadway Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 50th Street and a portion of E Columbus Drive between N 50th Street and E Broadway Avenue will close beginning on Monday, October 1, 2018 for driveway construction.  A private contractor will install driveway aprons and sidewalks on E Broadway Avenue between N 62nd Street and N 60th Street and on E Columbus Drive between N 60th Street and N 62nd Street for a new development at 2302 N 62nd Street.

The westbound lane on E Broadway Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 60th Street will close daily between 9 am to 4 pm beginning on October 1, 2018. Westbound and eastbound traffic will be maintained intermittently on the south side of the E Broadway Avenue between E Columbus Drive and N 60th Street during construction, with delays.

The eastbound lane on E Columbus Drive between N 60th Street and N 62nd Street will also close daily between 9 am to 4 pm beginning on October 1, 2018. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the north side of on E Columbus Drive between N 60th Street and N 62nd Street during construction, with delays.

The sidewalk on E Broadway Avenue in the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage. 

All lanes on E Broadway Avenue and E Columbus Drive will be open by 4 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Eastbound and westbound motorists can use SR 60 or E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between N 50th Street and Orient Road in lieu of E Broadway Avenue or E Columbus Drive.
