A portion of E Sligh Avenue between N Nebraska Avenue and N 15th Street that closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, February 4, 2019, for utility construction, has been extended.  A utility contractor will be installing a new gas main on the north and the south sides of E Sligh Avenue between N Nebraska Avenue and N 12th Street.  One (1) eastbound lane on E Sligh Avenue between N Nebraska Avenue and N 12th Street will close between 9 am to 4 pm weekdays and between 7 am to 4 pm on weekends beginning on February 18, 2019. During a portion of the work, only one (1) westbound lane on E Sligh Avenue between N 12th Street and N Nebraska Avenue will be closed.

One (1) lane of westbound and eastbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on one side of E Sligh Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

All lanes on E Sligh Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Westbound and eastbound motorists can use E Hanna Avenue between N Nebraska Avenue and N 15th Street in lieu of E Sligh Avenue.
