Temporary Lane Closures of MacDill Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard to begin May 30, 2017 for Utility Work
(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisory sent out on May 22, 2017)
A portion of MacDill Avenue between Palmira Avenue and Santiago Street and a portion of Bay to Bay Boulevard between Ysabella Avenue and Esperanza Avenue will be closed starting on Tuesday night, May 30, 2017 at 7:30 pm for utility work. The City’s contractor, Miller Pipeline, will be cleaning and maintaining sewer lines in the center of the roadways of MacDill Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard nightly from 7:30 pm to 5:00 am the following morning. There will be no work performed on Friday or Saturday nights.
Portions of the northbound and southbound traffic lanes on MacDill Avenue will be closed with traffic maintained in the parking lanes on both sides of the roads, with delays. There will be parking restrictions on both sides of MacDill Avenue from Barcelona Street to the Bay to Bay Boulevard intersection.
The left lanes of northbound and southbound MacDill Avenue and eastbound and westbound Bay to Bay Boulevard will be closed at the Bay to Bay Boulevard / MacDill Avenue intersection with no left turn movements permitted.
For southbound motorists on MacDill Avenue to access northbound Bayshore Boulevard, continue south on MacDill Avenue, take left at El Prado Boulevard to Bayshore Boulevard. For southbound motorists on MacDill Avenue to access the northbound Selmon Expressway, continue south on MacDill Avenue, take right at Euclid Avenue to the Selmon Expressway.
Westbound traffic on Bay to Bay Boulevard at the MacDill Avenue intersection will be restricted to right turns only northerly onto MacDill Avenue. For westbound motorists on Bay to Bay Boulevard to access westbound Bay to Bay Boulevard, go north on MacDill Avenue, take left onto Swann Avenue, left onto Henderson Boulevard, left onto Dale Mabry Highway to Bay to Bay Boulevard. For westbound motorists on Bay to Bay Boulevard to access southbound MacDill Avenue, go north on MacDill Avenue, take left onto Swann Avenue, left onto Henderson Boulevard, left onto Dale Mabry Highway, left on El Prado Boulevard to MacDill Avenue.
The work is anticipated to be completed by 5:00 am on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
