Temporary Lane Closures N 15th Street to begin May 13, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of N 15th Street between E 109th Avenue and E Fowler Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on Monday, May 13, 2019 for utility construction.  A private contractor will be installing a water service connection in two (2) phases across N 15th Street between the CSX railroad tracks and E Fowler Avenue.  

 

In Phase 1, construction work will take place on the east side of N 15th Street between the CSX railroad tracks and E Fowler Avenue.  Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained on the west side of N 15th Street at all times during construction, with delays.

 

The sidewalk on the east side of N 15th Street between the CSX railroad tracks and E Fowler Avenue will be closed during the Phase 1 construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

 

In Phase 2, construction work will take place on the west side of N 15th Street between E Fowler Avenue and the CSX railroad tracks.  The southbound lane on N 15th Street will be closed between E Fowler Avenue and the CSX railroad tracks.  Northbound traffic will be maintained on N 15th Street between the CSX railroad tracks and E Fowler Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

 

All lanes on N 15th Street between the CSX railroad tracks and E Fowler Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, May 24, 2019, weather permitting.    

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Northbound and southbound motorists can use N Nebraska Avenue or N 22nd Street between E 109th Avenue and E Fowler Avenue in lieu of N 15th Street.
