Temporary Lane Closures on N Habana Avenue to begin August 30, 2018 for Utility Construction

Tampa, FL (August 28, 2018) – A portion of N Habana Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will close on Thursday, August 30, 2018 for utility construction.  A private contractor will be installing underground utilities on the west side of N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for St. Joseph’s Hospital.  The southbound lane on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard has closed daily between 9 am and 4 pm beginning on August 30, 2018. 

One (1) southbound lane on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.  All turning movements into and out of St. Joseph’s Hospital from N Habana Avenue will be maintained during construction.

The sidewalk on the west side of N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

All lanes on N Habana Avenue between W Eddy Street and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, September 24, 2018, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Southbound motorists can use N Armenia Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in lieu of N Habana Avenue.
