Temporary Lane Closures N Himes Avenue to begin April 15, 2019 for Utility Maintenance

A portion of N Himes Avenue between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Hillsborough Avenue will close nightly from 7 pm to 6 am beginning on Monday, April 15, 2019, for utility maintenance.  A City contractor will be cleaning and relining sewer lines on N Himes Avenue between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Osbourne Avenue.  One (1) northbound lane on N Himes Avenue between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Osbourne Avenue will close at 7 pm beginning on April 15, 2019.

One (1) lane of northbound traffic on N Himes Avenue between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Osbourne Avenue will be maintained at all times during the construction, with delays.

Left turn movements for southbound motorists on N Himes Avenue at Loyola Lane/Jesuit High School driveway will be prohibited during construction. Motorists exiting Jesuit High School on Loyola Lane will be restricted to right turn only movements onto N Himes Avenue.

It is anticipated the work will be completed by 6 am on Monday, April 29, 2019, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Northbound motorists can use N Habanna Avenue or N Dale Mabry Highway between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Hillsborough Avenue in lieu of N Himes Avenue.
