Temporary Lane Closures of N Jefferson Street and E Whiting Street to begin October 12, 2018 for Utility Construction
A portion of N Jefferson Street between E Whiting Street and E Brorein Street and a portion of E Whiting Street between N Pierce Street and N Jefferson Street will close on Friday, October 12, 2018, as part of final Phase of the TECO upgrade project. The TECO subcontractor will be installing conduit in the southbound lanes on N Jefferson Street south of E Whiting Street.
Phase 6 construction work on N Jefferson Street between E Whiting Street and E Jackson Street and a portion of E Whiting Street between S Nebraska Avenue and N Jefferson Street is expected to be completed on Thursday, October 11, 2018, with the contractor transitioning into the final Phase 7 work.
On October 12, 2018 at approximately 9 am, both southbound lanes on N Jefferson Street between E Whiting Street and E Brorein Street and the eastbound right turn lane on E Whiting Street between N Pierce Street and N Jefferson Street will close.
Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area via signage.
It is anticipated that all lanes on N Jefferson Street and E Whiting Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, weather permitting.
The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
