Temporary Lane Closures of N Jefferson Street and N Pierce Street to begin April 30, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of N Jefferson Street between E Zack Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and N Pierce Street between E Zack Street and E Madison Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing underground utilities on the west side of N Jefferson Street, the east side of N Pierce Street and the south side of E Twiggs Street.  One (1) southbound lane on N Jefferson Street between E Zack Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and one (1) southbound lane on N Pierce Street between E Zack Street and E Madison Street will close beginning at 9 am on April 30, 2019.

One (1) southbound lane on N Jefferson Street between E Zack Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and three (3) lanes on N Pierce Street between E Zack Street and E Madison Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. 

The sidewalks in the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks during construction with signage.

All lanes on N Jefferson Street between E Zack Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and N Pierce Street between E Zack Street and E Madison Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
