Temporary Lane Closures on N Morgan Street and N Marion Street to begin November 10, 2019 for Site Improvements to be Extended
(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on November 8, 2019)
– A portion of N Morgan Street between Scott Street and E Harrison Street and a portion of N Marion Street between E Harrison Street and E Laurel Street that closed at 10 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019 for site improvements will be extended. A private contractor is installing new HART boarding pads, ADA ramps, and other road and drainage improvements for the HART’s Marion Transit Center. This construction will be completed in 3 phases.
In Phase 1, the southbound lane on N Morgan Street between E Laurel Street and E Fortune Street closed at 10 pm on November 10, 2019. Northbound traffic on N Morgan Street between E Fortune Street and E Laurel Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. This Phase is expected to take 5 weeks. All lanes on N Morgan Street are expected to be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, December 13, 2019, weather permitting.
Phase 2 will commence after completion of Phase 1. This Phase involves the closure of E Fortune Street (a private road) between N Marion Street and N Morgan Street. This construction is expected to be completed by February 7, 2020.
Phase 3 will commence after completion of Phase 2. In this Phase, the northbound lane on N Marion Street between E Fortune Street and E Laurel Street will close at 9 am on Monday, February 10, 2020. Southbound traffic on N Marion Street between E Laurel Street and E Fortune Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. This work is expected to take 3 weeks.
The sidewalks in the construction area will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area via signage.
All lanes on N Morgan Street and N Marion Street are expected to be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, February 28, 2020, weather permitting.
