Temporary Lane Closure(s) on Plant Avenue and Hyde Park Avenue to begin May 2, 2017 for Road Construction

The next phase of the Hyde Park and Plant Avenue Safety Improvement Project will begin Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  The City contractor will temporarily close lane(s) on Hyde Park Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and De Leon Street beginning on May 2, 2017. Hyde Park Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and De Leon Street will close nightly from 7 pm to 5:30 am, to mill and resurface the road.  It is anticipated that all lanes on Hyde Park Avenue will be open to traffic by 5:30 am on Saturday, May 6, 2017. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion on Hyde Park Avenue.  South Boulevard to De Leon Street (eastbound) can be used in lieu of Hyde Park Avenue to access Davis Islands.  For motorists traveling southbound on Hyde Park Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and De Leon Street, please allow more time to drive southbound on Hyde Park Avenue from May 2, 2017 to May 6, 2017. 

Beginning on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 7 pm, the City contractor will begin milling and resurfacing Plant Avenue from Brorein Street to Kennedy Boulevard.  Temporary lane closure(s) will occur on Plant Avenue between 7 pm and 5:30 am nightly beginning on May 7, 2017.  It is anticipated that all lanes on Plant Avenue will be open to traffic by 5:30 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion on Plant Avenue.  Bayshore Boulevard can be used northbound when leaving Davis Islands in lieu of Plant Avenue.  For motorists traveling northbound on Plant Avenue between Platt Street and Kennedy Boulevard, please allow more time to drive northbound on Plant Avenue from May 7, 2017 to May 9, 2017.
