Tampa, FL (August 31, 2017) – The ongoing utility construction schedule on a portion of Plant Avenue between Platt Street to Kennedy Boulevard has been extended.  One (1) lane on Plant Avenue between Cardy Street to Kennedy Boulevard has been closed daily from 9 am to 3 pm since August 21, 2017.  TECO will continue installing new electrical lines between existing manholes in Plant Avenue intermittently as part of a TECO substation upgrade project.

Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage on the east side of Plant Avenue, at all times during construction.

All lanes on Plant Avenue are now expected to be open by 3 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative northbound routes to avoid traffic congestion.
