Temporary Lane Closures S 22nd Street to begin October 7th 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of S 22nd Street between Marconi Street and S 20th Street/Causeway Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm, beginning on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing gas mains along S 22nd Street and on the local roads within Palmetto Beach neighborhood.  Southbound and northbound lanes on S 22nd Street between Clark Street and Hemlock Street will close intermittently beginning at 9 am on October 7, 2020.

Southbound and northbound traffic on S 22nd Street between Clark Street and Hemlock Street will be intermittently maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the construction area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area during construction.

All traffic lanes on S 22nd Street between Clark Street and Hemlock Street will be open by 4 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Southbound and northbound motorists can use S 20th Street between Durham Street and S 22nd/Maritime Boulevard, in lieu of S 22nd Street.
