Temporary Lane Closures on S Ashley Drive and E Whiting Street to begin March 25, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Ashley Drive between E Madison Street and E Whiting Street and E Whiting Street between S Ashley Drive and S Franklin Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, March 25, 2019 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing underground gas utilities on the east side of S Ashley Drive between E Jackson Street and E Washington Street and on the south side of E Whiting Street between S Tampa Street and S Franklin Street.

Southbound S Ashley Drive between E Jackson Street and E Washington Street and one (1) eastbound lane on E Whiting Street between S Ashley Drive and S Franklin Street will be closed beginning at 9 am on March 25, 2019.
All southbound motorists on S Ashley Drive between W Kennedy Boulevard and E Jackson Street will be required to turn left onto E Jackson Street.
One (1) lane of eastbound traffic on E Whiting Street between S Ashley Drive and S Franklin Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
The sidewalks on the west side of S Ashley Drive between E Jackson Street and E Washington Street and on the south side of E Whiting Street between S Tampa Street and S Franklin Street will be closed construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S Ashley Drive and E Whiting Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, April 1, 2019, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
