Temporary Lane Closures of S Franklin Street to begin March 29, 2019 for Banner Installation

A portion of S Franklin Street between E Brorein Street and Old Water Street will close for two (2) nights beginning on Friday, March 29, 2019 for banner installations and removals.  A private contractor will install temporary banners on the north and south sides of the Embassy Suites/Tampa Convention Center sky bridge over S Franklin Street between Channelside Drive and Old Water Street for the NCAA Women’s Final Four Basketball Tournament.  One (1) southbound lane on S Franklin Street between E Brorein Street and Old Water Street and one (1) northbound lane on S Franklin Street between Old Water Street and Channelside Drive will close on Friday evening, March 29, 2019 and on Wednesday evening, April 10, 2019 from 10 pm to 5 am on the following mornings.

One (1) southbound lane on S Franklin Street between E Brorein Street and Old Water Street and one (1) northbound lane on S Franklin Street between Old Water Street and Channelside Drive will be maintained at all times during construction.

The sidewalk on the west side of S Franklin Street between Channelside Drive and Old Water Street will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

All lanes on S Franklin Street between E Brorein Street and Old Water Street will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Thursday, April 11, 2019, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
