Temporary Lane Closures of S Franklin Street, W Platt Street, Channelside Drive and Bayshore Boulevard to begin October 17, 2018 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Franklin Street between Old Water Street and E Brorein Street, W Platt Street/Channelside Drive between S Plant Avenue and S Florida Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard between W Verne Street and W Platt Street will close beginning Wednesday, October 17, 2018, for utility construction. A TECO contractor will be installing utilities in an existing manhole at the intersection of S Franklin Street and Channelside Drive for a new restaurant at the Tampa Convention Center.
One (1) southbound lane and one (1) northbound lane on S Franklin Street between Old Water Street and E Brorein Street, one (1) eastbound lane on W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard, two (2) eastbound lanes on W Platt Street/Channelside Drive between Bayshore Boulevard and S Franklin Street and one (1) northbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between W Verne Street and W Platt Street will close October 17, 2018 from 10 pm to 4 am the following morning.
Left turn movements for southbound motorists on S Franklin Street at the intersection at Channelside Drive will be prohibited during construction.
All lanes on S Franklin Street, W Platt Street, Channelside Drive and Bayshore Boulevard will reopen to traffic by 4 am on Thursday, October 18, 2018, weather permitting.
Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
