Temporary Lane Closures S Nebraska Avenue and Channelside Drive began on June 11, 2020 for Utility Construction, to be Extended

(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisory issued on June 8, 2020)

 

A portion of S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Whiting Street and Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue that closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Thursday, June 11, 2020 for utility construction, to be extended.  A private contractor will be installing water taps, storm drainage connections and sewer connections on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue for a new hotel and multi-family apartment complex.

 

One (1) northbound lane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Whiting Street and one (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue closed at 9 am on June 11, 2020.

 

One (1) northbound lane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and one (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

Sidewalks in the work areas will be closed during the construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

 

All lanes on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Whiting Street and Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Nebraska Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
