Temporary Lane Closures on S West Shore Boulevard to begin May 1, 2019 for Road and Utility Construction

A portion of S West Shore Boulevard between Interbay Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue will close at 9 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 for road and utility construction.  A County contractor will be relocating water and drainage infrastructure and widening S West Shore Boulevard between W Price Avenue and W Fielder Street in two (2) phases as part of the Selmon West Extension construction project.

In Phase 1, construction work will take place on the west side of S West Shore Boulevard between W Fielder Street and W Price Avenue.  One lane of northbound and southbound traffic maintained on the east side of S West Shore Boulevard at all times during construction, with delays.

During a portion of the Phase 1 work, the W McElroy Avenue intersection on the west side of S West Shore Boulevard will be closed.

In Phase 2, construction work will take place on the east side of S West Shore Boulevard between W Price Avenue and W Fielder Street one lane of northbound and southbound traffic maintained on the west side of S West Shore Boulevard at all times during construction, with delays.

During a portion of the Phase 2 work, the W McElroy Avenue intersection and the W Oakellar Avenue intersection on the east side of S West Shore Boulevard will be closed.

All lanes on S West Shore Boulevard between W Price Avenue and W Fielder Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2019, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Northbound and southbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between Interbay Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue in lieu of S West Shore Boulevard.
