Temporary Lane Closures of W Azeele Street began July 22, 2019 for Utility Construction

(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on July 16, 2019 and August 28, 2019)

 

A portion of W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S West Shore Boulevard that closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, July 22, 2019, for utility construction has been extended.  A utility contractor will be installing gas service connections and monitoring utility crossings on W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue. One (1) lane on W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on July 22, 2019. 

During portions of the work, one (1) westbound lane or one (1) eastbound lane on W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue will also be closed.

Westbound and eastbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.  S Hubert Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street and S Coolidge Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street will also be closed during portions of the construction.

All lanes on W Azeele Street between S Lois Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019, weather permitting.

The sidewalk on W Azeele Street in the construction area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area via signage.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Westbound and eastbound motorists can use W Kennedy Boulevard or W Swann Avenue between S Lois Avenue and S West Shore Boulevard in lieu of W Azeele Street.
