Temporary Lane Closures of W Azeele Street to begin December 19, 2018 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Azeele Street between S MacDill Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing gas service connections and monitoring utility crossings on W Azeele Street between Gables Court and S Sterling Avenue. One (1) westbound lane on W Azeele Street between S Bradford Avenue and S Sterling Avenue will close at 9 am on December 19, 2018.  

During portions of the work, one (1) westbound lane and one (1) eastbound lane on W Azeele Street between S Bradford Avenue and S Sterling Avenue will also be closed.

One (1) westbound lane and one (1) eastbound lane of traffic on W Azeele Street between S Bradford Avenue and S Sterling Avenue will remain open at all times during construction, with delays.  Access to W Azeele Street from all side streets within the lane closure area will be maintained, during construction.

All lanes on W Azeele Street between S Bradford Avenue and S Sterling Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018, weather permitting.

The sidewalk on W Azeele Street in the construction area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area via signage.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Westbound and eastbound motorists can use W Kennedy Boulevard or W Swann Avenue between S MacDill Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway in lieu of W Azeele Street.
