Temporary Lane Closures W Bay to Bay Boulevard that began June 4, 2018 for Utility Maintenance

(This is a revision to Traffic Advisories issued on May 25, 2018, June 28, 2018 and June 29, 2018)

A portion of W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue that closed daily beginning on Monday, June 4, 2018, for utility maintenance, will close nightly beginning on Sunday, July 1, 2018.  A City contractor will be cleaning and relining sewer lines in the center of W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Dale Mabry Highway and S MacDill Avenue.  One (1) eastbound lane and one (1) westbound lane on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue will close from 7 pm to 5 am the following morning beginning on July 1, 2018 with the following exception:

  • One (1) eastbound lane and one (1) westbound lane on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 and Friday, July 6, 2018 only.  There will be no night time work on these days. The City contractor will be cleaning and relining sewer lines on S Malijo Avenue between W Empedrado Street and W Santiago Street and on S Ferdinand Avenue between W Empedrado Street and W Santiago Street in conjunction with this work.  All traffic lanes on S Malijo Avenue and on S Ferdinand Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction with flagmen.

 

One (1) eastbound lane and one (1) westbound lane of traffic on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue will be maintained at all times, during the construction.  Left turn movements for eastbound and westbound traffic on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Dale Mabry Highway and S MacDill Avenue will be maintained at S Himes Avenue and S Esperanza Avenue/Selmon Expressway off ramp only.

All lanes on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue will be open by 5 am on Friday, July 27, 2018, weather permitting. 

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Eastbound and westbound motorists can use Henderson Boulevard and W Morrison Avenue between S Church Avenue and S MacDill Avenue in lieu of W Bay to Bay Boulevard.
