Temporary Lane Closures on W Bay to Bay Boulevard to begin on June 15, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Himes Avenue will close daily beginning on Monday, June 15, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the north side of W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S Esperanza Avenue and S Ferdinand Avenue.


One (1) westbound lane on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Ferdinand Avenue will close at 9 am on June 15, 2020.


One (1) westbound lane on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Ferdinand Avenue will be maintained at all times, during the construction, with delays.


Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area with signage.


All lanes on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Ferdinand Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, weather permitting. 


The entire Palma Ceia Phase 2 Gas Main Replacement project is scheduled to be completed by Sunday, November 18, 2020, weather permitting.


The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Westbound motorists can use W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Himes Avenue, in lieu of W Bay to Bay Boulevard.  Westbound trucks can use W Kennedy Boulevard or W Gandy Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and S Dale Mabry Highway, in lieu of W Bay to Bay Boulevard.
