Temporary Lane Closures W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street and S Plant Avenue to begin October 13, 2017 for Utility Maintenance

(This is a revision to the Traffic Advisory sent out on October 11, 2017)

A portion of W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street between S Plant Avenue and South Boulevard and S Plant Avenue between W Platt Street and W Brorein Street will close nightly beginning Friday, October 13, 2017, for utility maintenance.  The City’s contractor will be cleaning sewer lines on W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street between S Plant Avenue and S Cedar Avenue.  One (1) lane on W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street between S Plant Avenue and S Cedar Avenue and on S Plant Avenue between W Platt Street and W Brorein Street will close nightly from 7 pm to 6 am the following day, beginning on October 13, 2017. 

Two (2) westbound lanes on W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street between S Plant Avenue and S Cedar Avenue will remain open at all times.  At least one (1) lane on S Plant Avenue between W Platt Street and W Brorein Street will also remain open at all times. It is anticipated that all lanes on W Brorein Street/W Cleveland Street and S Plant Avenue will be open to traffic by 6 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, weather permitting. 

No lane closures will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2017 or Sunday, October 15, 2017 due to special events at the arena.

The sidewalk on the north side of W Cleveland Street and on the east side of S Plant Avenue will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
