Temporary Lane Closures on W Cypress Street began December 4, 2017 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Cypress Street between Memorial Highway and N Lois Avenue closed on Monday, December 4, 2017 for utility construction.  There will be intermittent lane(s) closures of eastbound lanes on W Cypress Street between N O’Brien Street and N Manhattan Avenue daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on December 4, 2017.  A utility contractor will be installing new transmission poles on the south side of W Cypress Street from the E Frontage Road to N Manhattan Avenue. The work schedule will be intermittent.

Both lanes of westbound  traffic on W Cypress Street between N Lois Avenue and E Frontage Road will be maintained at all times during construction.

It is anticipated that all lanes on W Cypress Street between N O’Brien Street and N Manhattan Avenue will reopen to traffic by 3 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.  Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Spruce Street and W Boy Scout Boulevard between N O’Brien Street and N Lois Avenue in lieu of W Cypress Street.
