Temporary Lane Closures of W Cypress Street that began September 28, 2018 for Utility Construction to be Extended

(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on September 25, 2018)

 

A portion of W Cypress Street between N Lois Avenue and N Dale Mabry Highway that closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Friday, September 28, 2018 for utility construction will be extended.  A private contractor will be installing a water service connection on the south side of W Cypress Street and driveway aprons on the north side of W Cypress Street for a development at 3935 W Cypress Street. 

One (1) eastbound lane on W Cypress Street between N Lois Avenue and N Church Avenue closed daily at 9 am beginning on September 28, 2018.

One (1) eastbound lane of traffic on W Cypress Street between N Lois Avenue and N Church Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

All eastbound lanes on W Cypress Street are scheduled to be reopen by 4 pm on Friday, October 12, 2018, weather permitting.

One (1) westbound lane on W Cypress Street between N Dale Mabry Highway and N Grady Avenue will close daily at 9 am beginning on Monday, October 15, 2018.

One (1) westbound lane of traffic on W Cypress Street between N Dale Mabry Highway and N Grady Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

All westbound lanes on W Cypress Street will be open by 4 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018, weather permitting.

The sidewalk on the south side of W Cypress Street between N Dale Mabry Highway and the mid-block crosswalk located to the west of N Grady Avenue will be closed during the initial portion of the construction. The sidewalk on the north side of W Cypress Street between N Dale Mabry Highway and the mid-block crosswalk located to the west of N Grady Avenue will be closed during the final portion of the construction.   Pedestrian access will be maintained to other sidewalks in the area via signage during both portions of the work.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Kennedy Boulevard or W Spruce Street between N Lois Avenue and N Dale Mabry Highway in lieu of W Cypress Street.
