Temporary Lane Closures of W Cypress Street to begin May 16, 2019 for Utility Maintenance
A portion of W Cypress Street between N Lois Avenue and N Obrien Street will close nightly beginning on Thursday, May 16, 2019 for utility maintenance. A City contractor will be cleaning and relining the sewer lines in W Cypress Street at the intersection of N Westshore Boulevard. One (1) westbound lane on W Cypress Street between N Trask Street and N Occident Street will close will close nightly from 9 pm to 6 am the following day, beginning on May 16, 2019.
One (1) westbound lane on W Cypress Street between N Trask Street and N Occident Street will be maintained at all times, with delays.
The westbound left turn lane on W Cypress Street approaching the N Westshore Boulevard intersection will be closed during construction prohibiting left turns onto N Westshore Boulevard. In addition, one (1) northbound left turn lane on N Westshore Boulevard approaching the W Cypress Street intersection will also be closed during construction.
All lanes on W Cypress Street and N Westshore Boulevard will be reopen by 6 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, weather permitting.
The crosswalk on W Cypress Street just east of N Westshore Boulevard will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion. Eastbound motorists can use W Boy Scout Boulevard and W Spruce Street between N Lois Avenue and N Obrien Street in lieu of W Cypress Street. Southbound motorists can use W Kennedy Boulevard between N Lois Avenue and N Westshore Boulevard in lieu of W Cypress Street.
