Temporary Lane Closures on W Platt Street to begin November 21, 2019 for Utility Construction
Tampa, FL (November 18, 2019) – A portion of W Platt Street between South Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on Thursday, November 21, 2019 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing equipment on and adjacent to an existing utility pole for a small wireless facility on the north side of W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and S Parker Street. One lane on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Parker Street will close at 9 am beginning on November 21, 2019. This work will complete the phased construction for this facility.
One (1) lane of traffic on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Parker Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
The sidewalk on the north side of W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and S Parker Street will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area with signage.
It is anticipated that all lanes on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Parker Street will be open by 3 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
