Temporary Lane Closures W Sligh Avenue to begin October 21, 2019 for Bridge Maintenance

A portion of W Sligh Avenue between North Boulevard and N Florida Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, October 21, 2019, for bridge maintenance.  A Hillsborough County contractor will be repairing the bridge on W Sligh Avenue between N River Shore Drive and N River Boulevard.  One (1) eastbound lane on W Sligh Avenue between N Brevard Street and N River Boulevard and one (1) westbound lane on W Sligh Avenue between N Ola Avenue and N River Shore Drive will close at 9 am beginning on October 21, 2019.

 

One (1) lane of eastbound traffic and one (1) lane of westbound traffic on W Sligh Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

 

All lanes on W Sligh Avenue between N Brevard Street and N Ola Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

 

Motorists can use W Waters Avenue between North Boulevard and N Florida Avenue in lieu of W Sligh Avenue.
