Temporary Lane Closures W Swann Avenue and S West Shore Boulevard to begin October 1, 2020 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Swann Avenue between S West Shore Boulevard and S Lois Avenue and a portion of S West Shore Boulevard between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm, beginning on Thursday, October 1, 2020 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing gas service lines on W Swann Avenue and S West Shore Boulevard. The eastbound lane on W Swann Avenue between S West Shore Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on October 1, 2020.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on W Swann Avenue between S West Shore Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue will be intermittently maintained on the south side of W Swann Avenue at all times, with delays.

The northbound lane on S West Shore Boulevard between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will be narrowed during construction.

Northbound and southbound traffic on S West Shore Boulevard between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will be maintained at all times during Construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the construction area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area during construction.

All traffic lanes on W Swann Avenue between S West Shore Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue and on S West Shore Boulevard between W Swann Avenue and W Azeele Street will be open by 4 pm on Monday, February 15, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Azeele Street between S West Shore Boulevard and S Lois Avenue, in lieu of W Swann Avenue.

Northbound and southbound motorists on S West Shore Boulevard can use S Lois Avenue between S Manhattan / Henderson and Azeele, in lieu of S West Shore Boulevard.

Northbound and southbound trucks can use S Dale Mabry Boulevard between Bay to Bay Boulevard and W Kennedy Boulevard, in lieu of S West Shore Boulevard.
