Temporary Lane Closure(s) Water Street to begin January 27, 2020 for Utility Construction

(This is a revision to a Traffic Advisory issued on January 10, 2020)

A portion of Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) between S Florida Avenue and Channelside Drive will close on Monday, January 27, 2020 for utility construction.  Two (2) northbound lanes on Water Street between S Morgan Street and Channelside Drive will close at 9 am on January 27, 2020 for storm and sanitary sewer connections.

 

One (1) northbound lane and one (1) southbound lane on Water Street between S Morgan Street and Channelside Drive will be maintained on the west side of Water Street, with delays.

 

The sidewalk on the east side of Water Street between Channelside Drive and the Tampa History Center will remain closed until October 2020.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

 

One (1) northbound lane on Water Street is scheduled to be reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
