Temporary Lane/Road Closures on Channelside Drive to begin March 11, 2019 for Road Construction

A portion of Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive will close beginning on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 9 am for road construction.  A private contractor will be installing center medians, pedestrian crosswalks and resurfacing portions of Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive. This construction work will be done in two phases.

 

During the first phase of work, the westbound lane on Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S 12th Street will close at 9 am on Monday, March 11, 2019.  One eastbound lane will be maintained during this portion of work.  Phase 1 work is anticipated to be completed by 1 am on Monday, March 25, 2019, weather permitting.

 

The second phase of work will begin immediately upon the completion of Phase 1.  On Monday, March 25, 2019 at appropriately 1 am, Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and South 12th Street will close.  All lanes on Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S 12th Street will be open to traffic by 4pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
