Temporary Road Closure on N Highland Avenue began April 2, 2018 for Road and Utility Improvements to be Extended

A portion of N Highland Avenue between W Palm Avenue and the I-275 Southbound Doyle Carlton Drive exit ramp closed on Monday, April 2, 2018, as part of The Heights Development project will be extended.  A private contractor is installing a stormwater drainage pipe on N Highland Avenue from W Palm Avenue to the south of W 7th Avenue, in conjuction with the proposed development. 

On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, the intersection of N Highland Avenue and W 7th Avenue will close to tie-in the stormwater drainage pipe.  N Highland Avenue between W Palm Avenue and W Henderson Avenue and W 7th Avenue between N Tampa Street and N Ola Avenue will close at 9 am on September 25, 2018.  

On Monday, October 8, 2018, N Ola Avenue between W Oak Avenue and W 7th Avenue will be closed to install a stormwater drainage pipe on N Ola Avenue between W Oak Avenue and W 7th Avenue.

W Oak Avenue between N Ola Avenue  and N Tampa Street will continue to be closed during the construction.

Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed, including portions of the Riverwalk.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area via signage.

W 7th Avenue between N Tampa Street and N Ola Avenue is scheduled to be open to traffic by 4 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018, weather permitting. 

N Ola Avenue between W Oak Avenue and W 7th Avenue is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, weather permitting.

W Oak Avenue between N Ola Avenue  and N Tampa Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018, weather permitting.

N Highland Avenue between W Palm Avenue and W 7th Avenue is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
