Temporary Road Closure on N Rome Avenue to begin January 8, 2018 for Road and Infrastructure Improvements

Tampa, FL (January 3, 2018) – A portion of N Rome Avenue between W Sligh Avenue and W Hillsborough Avenue will close at 9 am on Monday, January 8, 2018, as part of a Heights Development Project. The private contractor will be installing new storm line and retention pond on N Rome Avenue between W Henry Avenue and W Clifton Street to accommodate the proposed development.
It is anticipated that N Rome Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018, weather permitting.
The sidewalk on the west side of N Rome Avenue will be closed around the construction site. Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
