Temporary Road Closure on Nebraska Avenue to begin February 9, 2017 for Roadway and Infrastructure Improvements
On Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 9 a.m., a portion of Nebraska Avenue from Channelside Drive to Brorein Street will be closed for roadway and infrastructure improvements. Nebraska Avenue will reopen Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 4 p.m., weather permitting.
The northernmost lane of Channelside Drive between Florida Avenue and Old Water Street also remains closed. Pedestrians on Channelside Drive between Morgan Street and Old Water Street will be directed to the south side of Channelside Drive. The northern lane of Channelside Drive will reopen in Summer 2017.
Improvements continue on Jefferson Street between Channelside Drive and Brorein Street. It is planned to be reopened in Spring 2017.
The southbound lane on Jefferson Street between Whiting Street and Brorein Street also remains closed. Pedestrians on Brorein Street between Jefferson Street and Morgan Street will be directed to the south side of the Brorein Street and southbound pedestrians on Jefferson Street will be detoured to the east side of Jefferson Street during this phase of construction. The southbound lane on Jefferson Street will reopen March 3, 2017.
